In good condition. For display purposes only! Tested VIBRATES INTERMITTENTLY when shaken, but use is NOT recommended & functionality is not guaranteed! No other major damage. The locking screw of the "ON/OFF" slide switch is NOT the original & has been replaced. Wire has one (1) frayed end. Bakelite pieces are not chipped or cracked, but the sponge is worn & cracked worn from use. There are a few small spots on the battery compartment where the nickel plating on the brass has worn through. Paperwork is creased from years of folded storage & has some micro-tears at the edges as well as some age-tanning. BOX HAS MULTIPLE TORN CORNERS & IS INCOMPLETE. Any flaws, if present, will be either written about here in the condition section of the listing OR visible in the photos. Therefore, you MUST examine ALL of the photos carefully, as the photos often can illustrate the item’s condition better than any words can. This auction is for an antique early 1900s
"ELECTREAT" electro-shock rolling massage quackery device.
I PUT A USED "D" CELL BATTERY IN THE DEVICE TO TEST IT
& IT VIBRATES INTERMITTENTLY.
MAY
WORK BETTER WITH A NEW BATTERY
HOWEVER, I DID NOT TOUCH THE ROLLER HEAD END FOR FEAR OF GETTING SHOCKED.

Used for a host of fake cures.
Structure/Composition:
Uses one (1) "D" cell battery;
but use is NOT recommended & functionality is not guaranteed
. Main piece is made of nickel-plated-brass & black Bakelite. Accessory pieces' handles are made of Bakelite. Wire cord is cloth-bound with metal tips that have a rubber grip to prevent shocks.
