Description
Beautifully preserved quack medical device sold by J.H. Bunnell & Company, 20 Park Place, New York. Used to practice Electropathic Medicine in the early 1900s. This appears to be a compact version of the No. 4 model. Underneath the transformer is the space for the battery. Patent date of December 30, 1902 in metal holder of adjustable transformer. Completely refinished with several coats of MinWax Satin Varnish and hand polished to a soft luster with 0000 steel wool and paste wax. Metal hardware was polished. Box is constructed of 5/16" thick solid oak and sides were assembled using a barefaced housing joint for strength and appearance. Box measures 7 5/8" long x3 1/2 deep x 5 1/4" tall. Purple velvet covers the bottom. All the accessories were lost a long time ago and don't know if it works, but should makea great conversation piece.
