This is a series of 50 cards, numbered from 1 to 50 on the back of each card at the bottom center.
The front of each card is a multi-colored illustration, in either horizontal (36 cards) or vertical (14 cards) format, which includes various scenes representing the appealing characteristics of a city (or country) that might be visited on a "Trip Around The World".
The back of each card contains only text in a vertical format, printed in a shade of blue. The left half contains identical text explaining the benefits of grinding your coffee at home. The right half is headed by the name of the city visited, followed by a description of the history, location, scenery, people, and other interesting characteristics of the place.
In the late Victorian era, long, long before television, jet planes, and the Internet brought the world to our doorstep, cards like these provided the average American at least a small glimpse into other places and cultures in the far-flung "corners" of the world. Just how accurate a glimpse it was may be debatable, at least from today's perspective, but I'm sure it provided a brief escape for the factory worker or ranch hand downing that last cup of Arbuckles' coffee before heading off to a long, hard day's labor.
