Item Description
Offered here, for your consideration, is a fantastic & rare vegetable or salad bowl, referred to as a Nappy bowl, in the G3353 Wheat Laurel pattern, on Eggshell Georgian China, that's a whopping 9 1/2" in diameter!! :)  It was designed by the Homer Laughlin Company and fired in February of 1942, at the Newell, VW plant, in kiln number 5, according to its' backstamp of B42 N5.  It has a white background and a 1" ring of
robins' egg blue
around the rim.  The
blue
is further accented by a white outer rim, with a textured raised dash-bead design, that's trimmed in 22 carat
gold
, of which 99% is intact, and an inner verge line, in a lovely Wheat Laurel pattern, also in 22 ct
gold
, that is 96% intact.
Please note that because these bands are made of real
gold
,
this bowl IS NOT MICROWAVE SAFE - Buyer beware :)
Although it has a few utinsil marks in the blue, I would still describe it as a "near mint - mint" piece, especially when you consider that it is now over 69 years old !! :)  With its' large size and in this great condition, I feel it would make an excellant replacement piece for any that you are missing, or a wonderful beginning to building that set of your own.  And because of its' lack of flower pattern it would also fit in nicely with your set of Wayside, Chateau or Marilyn pattern with a blue rim :)

I have listed my handling time as 5 business days after payment has been posted to my account, as it is not always convenient for me to get to the post office :) However, if you need it sent promptly, please let me know when you make your payment, and I'll make every effort to get it shipped asap :) Please note that once it has been put into the hands of the delivering party, I will
not
be held responsible for its travel time or condition upon arrival. Insurance is always offered as an option for
your
protection :) and can be easily added to your invoice before you make your payment. Just send me a note stating you want your item insured and I'll add it in for you :) Also note that, at present, I am only shipping to the lower 48 contiguous states...
