Spitfire Chassis Lever

Description

This lever is for the chassis control unit found on the right hand side of the cockpit, unique to Spitfires and made by the Singer Sewing Machine Company for Supermarine Aircraft Co during the war. I started to gather parts in the hope I could make up a unit, managed to get one complete so now we have some parts left over, I got three levers in a random box of parts. I had them cleaned up and cadmium plated by
Air NZ
. I made the handle bolt and special nut to the original shape etc and I turned up handles in hardwood instead of Bakelite. I have sets of plates and other parts, see them on my web site. spitfireaircraftworkshop.com.
