Stillwater MN Schöne's Gasthaus Bavarian Hunter Vtg Stoneware Mugs West Germany

Description

Two vintage handmade stoneware beer mugs from Schöne's Gasthaus Bavarian Hunter restaurant of Stillwater, Minnesota, USA.
The stoneware steins are marked 'West Germany' on the bottom. The restaurant went into business in 1966, so these were made sometime between then and late 1989.
Both are stamped "0.5 l" to designate the official measured volume of one half liter.
They are heavy and well made in a traditional Bavarian style. There is a slight blue tint to the clear glaze, and it is slightly dripped in places that are original to when they were made, barely noticeable on one and a bit more on the other.
The mugs are in very good condition, with no chips, cracks or crazing. The glaze is in excellent condition, inside and outside.
