Description
Up for sale is a large, 5 5/8 inch by 7 5/8 inch, Victorian Trade Card advertising C. D. Kenny's roasted coffee. The C. D. Kenny Company was founded by Mr. Kenny in 1872. After he arrived in Baltimore from New York he opened a coffee, tea, and sugar store at Lexington and Green Streets. Later he expanded to Washington DC, Richmond VA, and most of the southern states. His retail stores closed in 1934 when he went wholesale. In 1940 the C. D. Kenny Company was taken over by Consolidated Food Corp of Chicago. This card is from the late 1800's and advertises, on the back, a store in Richmond, VA.There are 2 small creases/tears on this card: as viewed from the front, right side lower center edge, and right side bottom corner. Otherwise the card is in very good condition for it's age.
